Down Memory Lane

In December 2012 I took the Tilt Train to Bundaberg with the intention of getting photos of places of family interest there and in Gin Gin.

So I hired a car and drove the Bundaberg - Gin Gin - Childers triangle, snapping away with my digital camera as I went. So much unchanged over the 70 odd years since we lived there: but inevitably much also very different now. Gin Gin has certainly grown. They have an IGA supermarket there now: hailed by the locals as a great advance, saving many trips to Bundaberg. The Catholic church congregation has also increased: one of the few in Queensland to do so! Childers (where I was stationed in 1970) has stagnated. Much new in Bundaberg, although unemployment there is still very high. Bargara and Kellys Beach area has been transformed.

Hopefully my memory hasn't failed me too badly in what follows. Let me know if you pick up any errors.
